Erica Taxin Blez­nak and her fam­ily hosted Rad­hanath Swami at their house in Vil­lanova, out­side Philadel­phia, on Fri­day Novem­ber 26. She is the owner of Jai Yoga — a yoga stu­dio in Haver­ford PA that pro­vides classes, work­shops, kir­tans, and spe­cial­izes in pri­vate yoga.

Mon­day Novem­ber 22 Rad­hanath Swami spoke at a yoga stu­dio in Maple­wood, New Jer­sey. He met Clair, one of the co-founders of Baker Street Yoga, before the pro­gram. She told him, “not every­body can do what you did — hitch­hike from Lon­don all the way to the Himalayas and get all kinds of lessons on the way.”

Rad­hanath Swami was part of a panel dis­cus­sion with MIT pro­fes­sors, stu­dents, and spe­cial guests. All present openly dis­cussed the inter­sec­tion of spir­i­tu­al­ity and sci­ence and steps to har­mo­niz­ing the two.

Rita Nether­sole, Asso­ciate Dean at UMass Boston, said in her intro­duc­tion on Thurs­day Novem­ber 18 that “as I was read­ing Rad­hanath Swami’s book The Jour­ney Home it invoked in me a sense of what UMass is about — peo­ple seek­ing in var­i­ous ways and the abil­ity to find wis­dom in so many peo­ple. I was once told that we are human beings on a spir­i­tual path but now I am learn­ing that we are spir­i­tual beings on a human path.”

Wednes­day Novem­ber 17 Boston Uni­ver­sity Holis­tic Yoga Club pro­vided an evening full of music, words of wis­dom, and a veg­e­tar­ian din­ner. Gau­ra­vani & gui­tarist Richard Davis — pro­fes­sor at Berklee Col­lege of Music — played as peo­ple trick­led in. Then a mem­ber of the Holis­tic Yoga Club described how yoga and med­i­ta­tion relieve stress.
